Kansas Assessment Program

State assessments for our 3rd-6th grade students begin next week. These assessments are an important opportunity for students to demonstrate their learning and for our school to measure progress toward academic goals. The results help us identify strengths and areas for growth, ensuring we continue providing high-quality instruction tailored to student needs. Teachers will send home more information about specific days/times for testing sessions.

Parents can support their children's success through the following actions:

  • Ensure your child gets a good night of sleep

  • Have your child eat a healthy breakfast

  • Make sure your child arrives at school on time

  • Encourage your child to do their best

BES Art Corner

6th graders were introduced to the famous artist, Claude Monet this week! They started sketching out and water coloring their masterpiece!

Oscar-Claude Monet was a French painter and the leader of the Impressionist movement.

His work revolutionized art history and influenced generations of abstract painters. Monet was inspired to paint natural light and the open air, and experimented with bold colors, unconventional compositions, and loose handling. His mature works often depicted the same subject at different times of day in multiple sequences,

5th graders are still working super hard making their own stamp that will show radial symmetry. They have designed, cut, created and now painting their paper. Next week we will be stamping, and I am so excited to see how amazing they turn out!

4th graders learned all about Claude Monet and started their water lily pond like one of his famous art pieces!

3rd graders are finishing up their self portraits on top of their Basquiat graffiti backgrounds!

2nd graders learned all about Claude Monet. They were so excited to look at his art and made some amazing observations about his artwork. They are going to start their project inspired by Monet on Friday!

1st graders learned about Monet as well. They also started their painted chickens! Their music program is coming up and I will have their artwork displayed at the HS for all to see!

Kinders were taught now to make bubble letters! They are working on putting their bubble letter name on their amazing background paper!
