This week in art was all about wrapping up Keith Haring and introducing our next famous artist—Frida Kahlo!

Frida Kahlo was a famous Mexican artist from the 1900s. She is best known for her colorful self-portraits and her one-of-a-kind style that mixed Mexican culture with her own life experiences. Frida went through many challenges—she survived polio as a child and was badly hurt in a bus accident as a teenager. While recovering, she began painting and discovered how art could help her share her feelings and tell her story. She also loved to show pride in her Mexican heritage through her artwork and clothing.

In Kindergarten, we are practicing important art skills—how to cut and how to use glue correctly! The kids are putting these skills to use by making adorable apple trees that show off their creativity. 🍎🌳

Berryton PTO has an immediate need for a craft fair chair. This event is Saturday November 22 9-3. Responsibilities include soliciting vendors, collecting fees, assigning booths, advertising for the event, communicating updates with PTO, and being there for the entire event. Most planning can be done from home. There will be other PTO members available to assist with planning or questions. This is a nice fundraiser and community event we don’t want to see canceled.
