BES Site Council- BES Site Council is comprised of families that want to know more about the inner workings of the school and dialogue with staff and other families. If you are interested in joining Site Council apply here. This group meets quarterly.
Kansas Book Festival- This weekend is the Kansas Book Festival on Saturday, September 20th from 9 am to 4 pm. It is located at Washburn University. The presenting authors will speak inside the library and there will be vendors and children’s activities and book signings set up in tents next to the library located at the Northwest corner of campus. This year’s Bill Martin Jr. Picture Book Award winner, Bess Kalb, will be talking about her winning book Buffalo Fluffalo. In library this week all classes from PreK-2nd were read this book, and it is a fun one ! Her session starts at 1 pm in the Washburn Library room 221.
Upcoming Assembly for 5th and 6th Graders- On October 3rd students will listen to a presentation from Sports in Kansas called Think Before You Post. This presentation will focus on appropriate and healthy social media usage.
Supporting Claire Pittz- Claire is a preschooler at BES living with PPP3CA and our BES community can support Claire in raising funding of PPP3CA by signing up to walk or donate. Click here for more details on how to support Claire.
