Happy New Year, Thunderbolts! ⚡️
Mrs. Clay is back in the saddle and so ready to kick off the third quarter at SHES. I want to express my sincere gratitude to our entire school community for your support while I have been out on maternity leave. It was such a blessing to be able to focus on my family and soak up those 'Mommy' moments with both of my girls over the last two months. All of that to say, I am so happy to get back to serving our incredible students, staff, and families.
January can often feel like a long month coming off of winter break, though it will be nice to have a few weeks of consistency to get our students and staff back in the swing of things. A big focus in February/March will be to prepare students in grades 3-6 for the Kansas Assessment Program. More details on that will be forthcoming.
There are a few important housekeeping reminders below for families -- thank you for your close attention to these pieces!
Mrs. Hays, Ms. Baruth, and many others had graciously taken on various tasks in my absence. Upon our return on January 6, I will resume being the first point of contact regarding student behaviors and bus conduct. As always, please feel free to reach out via phone at 785-730-5183 or via email at clayk@usd450.net at any time.
